Setser Wins John Hinck Championship Opener

Gunnar Setser scored the opening round win in the John Hinck Championship on Friday night at Sweet Springs (Mo.) Motorsports Complex.

Twenty-seven Outlaw Non-Wing 600cc Micros entered the event, and Gunnar began his night with a fifth-to-first charge in his heat race to earn the pole position for the 25-lap feature.

Leading all but the opening circuit of the 25-lap finale aboard the CB Industries No. 87, Setser picked up his fifth win of the 2022 campaign.

He was followed across the finish line by Quinn Jones, Kameron Key, Frank Galusha, and Chris Koch.

Action continued at the Missouri oval on Saturday night. Starting-and-finishing second in his heat race positioned Gunnar ninth on the starting grid for the 30-lap feature.

He went on to race his way to a second-place finish behind Kameron Key with Tyler Kuykendall, Cale Coons, and Kenton Brewer completing the Top-5 finishers.
